As a young person, Emily began her life in the arts as a dancer and fine artist. A love of the human form, movement, and sculpture transformed seamlessly into a career in costumes. Treating costumes as a form of sculpture, Emily works under the sentiment that we wear our stories. She strives to serve the work through creative problem solving, collaboration, and organization by creating distinctive solutions to communicate story and character. We must stretch the imagination and connect to the soul of our community by constantly pushing ourselves to the next level.
Awards and recognitions include: Joan and Melvin Grabowski Memorial Award for excellence in theatrical design and technical achievement in 2012 and 2013; participant in USITT Young Designers and Technician Forum 2018.
Emily holds an MFA from San Diego State University and a BFA in Design and Production from Millikin University.
